SHANGHAI – April 23, 2024 – Avient Corporation, a premier provider of specialized and sustainable materials solutions and services, announces the launch of a new range of OnColor™ durable orange nylon colorants developed to improve the heat and long-term color stability of cautionary, orange-colored polymers for high-voltage electric vehicle (EV) connectors.
In addition, samples exposed to high humidity for seven days at 85°C and 85% relative humidity showed limited loss of color, suggesting that these colorants can be used in high-humidity environments.

The new fiber colorant technology combines ColorMatrix liquid concentrates and proprietary high-pressure metering equipment to enable late-stage color injection during melt extrusion spin coloring.
Adding liquid color downstream minimizes color contamination, reducing clean out and color change time.
In addition, these new solutions allow standard white polyester fiber producers with reactor spinning lines to produce colored products in-line, eliminating the need for a secondary aqueous dyeing process.
