masterbatch supplier couldn’t provide the proper
documents to certify the materials met Reduction of
Hazardous Substances (RoHS) and Registration,
Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals
(REACH) requirements.
THE SOLUTION
When the cable manufacturer reached out to Avient
for a solution, its polymer science experts teamed up
with the manufacturer to review quality standards,
manufacturing practices, and the cable performance
its customers required.
With RoHS and REACH
documentation on all masterbatch orders, international
customers were an option once again.

Grades in the Gravi-Tech™ Density Modified Formulations 5200 MS series offer an alternative to ABS materials in luxury packaging caps and closures.
POMMERLOCH, Luxembourg – March 21, 2024 – Avient Corporation, a premier provider of specialized and sustainable materials solutions and services, today announced the introduction of new Gravi-Tech™ Density Modified Formulation grades with low shrinkage, offering luxury packaging customers an alternative to acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) based materials.
To enable customers to use their existing ABS molds, Avient has developed new PP-based grades with comparable shrinkage to traditionally used ABS materials.

This allows the materials to retain structural properties that fall between those of standard and specialty nylons when exposed to moisture.
