Substances are encapsulated in our solid polymers and not biologically available for exposure when used as intended, therefore do not present a hazard.

The problem is
that most polymer housings are not able to resist the
chemicals involved in this treatment without cracking.
After fully understanding all of the requirements,
Avient’s technology team began to formulate an easy-
to-mold, durable and aesthetically pleasing specialty
polymer that provided processing flexibility and
wouldn’t require retooling.

was developed to improve the heat and long-term
color stability of cautionary orange polymers for
high-voltage EV connectors, offering the following
benefits:
• Long-term fading resistance in thermal aging
tests at up to 130°C for 1,000 hours,
• No migration, excellent processing stability
• Lower corrosion risk vs. typical comparable
colorants
• No impact on flame retardancy and limited
adverse effects on essential mechanical
characteristics, including flexural and impact
strength
Avient’s orange nylon colorants are available in
several validated RAL, Pantone, and JPMA orange
shades for compounding, injection molding, and
extrusion.

Most films used in food packaging
are either totally olefinic (polyethylene or
polypropylene) or have multilayer structures
in which the inner polymer surface is olefinic.
When water condenses on a film made out
of polar (hydrophilic) polymer with a higher surface
energy, the droplets have lower contact angles.
Secondly, the additive must not interfere with the
principal role of the polymer, which is to provide
high levels of film sealability and peelability.
