FIBERS PROCESSES PRODUCTS
NOMEX® META-ARAMID
WHY NOMEX® META-ARAMID
Molecular Structure
Chemical Name
Poly (meta-phenyleneisophthalamide).
For over 25 years, FIBER-LINE® has provided science-
driven expertise that improves the performance and
the end-use processing of high performance fibers.
• FIBER-LINE®’s ability to add value to the already
attractive properties of both Kevlar®Para-Aramid &
Nomex® Meta-Aramid creates more opportunity in
the market place to provide solution driven products
to a diverse range of markets.
• Because FIBER-LINE® already processes so many dif-
ferent types and deniers of both Kevlar® & Nomex®,
we have been authorized by DuPont™ to distribute
small quantities of these fibers to an ever-growing
customer base

Description of process
Avient’s Enterprise Risk Management process helps identify and assess climate-related
risks at a company-level.
This process focuses on financial, operational, and
reputational risks.
As part of this process, we utilize an interview process with our
executive management team and ERM risk owners to assess both the likelihood and
potential impact for each individual risk.

MEETING FR GOALS IN DATA CABLES WITH AN
ALTERNATIVE TO FEP
Maxxam FR materials can provide cost savings and improved
processing capabilities when used in category 5e cables
and above.
Not only is the material costly,
it can also be challenging to process and use in thin wall
cable applications.
THE IMPACT
When compared with FEP, Maxxam FR formulations offer
significant cost savings and improve processing ease.

The objective was to design
a visually pleasing light source, while improving the
flexibility and efficiency of its own production process.
Also,
the acrylic sheets required an additional process to
cut them to size before thermoforming, which led to
excessive waste and disposal costs.
This optimized combination of additive and color
technology eliminated the “hot spots,” and achieved
the sought-after bright white light, and streamlined
the entire manufacturing process by enabling in-house
production.
