Monolayer PET expands design freedom,
allowing designers to create unique packaging
shapes with the same visible light blocking as
paperboard and multilayer HDPE packaging.
PET is also a more user-friendly material; it can
enable better shape, handling, storage, opening,
pouring and resealing.
Processing conditions can cause material properties to shift from the values stated in the information.
https://www.avient.com/sites/default/files/2020-12/maxxam-fr-case-study.pdf
Not only is the material costly,
it can also be challenging to process and use in thin wall
cable applications.
After delivering
polypropylene-based samples from the Maxxam™ FR line
for immediate trial, the Avient team also worked with
the manufacturer to help them determine the best pair
combination design.
After Avient delivered test data for pair combinations and
the manufacturer’s team completed material trials, they
were able to replace FEP with Maxxam FR material in four
out of four insulation pairs.

Our technical and
application development teams will work with you
to provide material selection support and product
customization to achieve your performance needs.
Available in rolls of unidirectional
tape as well as X-Ply™ 0°/90° and other multi-ply
laminates, Polystrand materials can be post-
formed and co-molded with mixed materials in
thermoforming and injection molding processes
to provide lightweight strength to a variety of part
designs.
Processing conditions can cause material properties to shift from the values stated in the information.

PACKAGING
Functionality and differentiation are key when designing cosmetic packaging.
Chemical compatibility of the
packaging materials is equally important.
Our materials allow you to
add surface texture by bead blasting or chemically
texturing the mold.

RESILIENCE™ HC OUTPERFORMS COMPETING POLYMERS
Design engineers are increasingly looking more frequently for better chemical resistance properties
in rigid device housings to combat the effects of disinfectants.
As shown in the tables
below, PolyOne materials such as Resilience™ HC Rigid Molding Materials can offer improved resistance
to cracking from disinfectants.
https://www.avient.com/sites/default/files/resources/HIGH_PERFORMANCE_CLEAR_THERMOPLASTICS_ELASTOMER.pdf
However,
silicone is very expensive material.
We will first discuss the important design
parameters that affect the clarity and properties
of the TPE compounds.
Mechanical properties such as tensile
and tear are specified design requirement.
