Most TPE compounds have fairly high mold shrinkage in the flow direction with minimal shrinkage in the cross flow direction. Relocating the gate to influence the TPE flow pattern may also be of assistance. Many consumers prefer a “warm” soft touch feel over a hard plastic feel.
