Cesa™ WithStand™ Antimicrobial Additives
Cesa™ WithStand™ Antimicrobial technologies
counteract bacteria, fungi and microbes to
enhance the performance of plastic products
and devices.
Formulated with organic and
inorganic antimicrobial additives, Cesa WithStand
technologies are tested to specific log reduction
requirements to eliminate or inhibit microbe
growth, and protect against microbial degradation,
mold and mildew.

However, an ongoing
challenge, especially for high-end products with
demanding aesthetic requirements, is to prevent
adhesive residue when the protective film is
removed.
Compared to current solvent-
based coating technology, co-extrusion film using
Versaflex CF has significantly reduced volatile
organic compound (VOC) emissions and helps
reduce energy consumption by eliminating
secondary coating and drying operations.
KEY CHARACTERISTICS
• High initial adhesion on steel, PMMA, and various
other substrates
• Stable and low adhesion build-up over time to
prevent residue
• Low unwinding force for improved efficiency
when pasting film
• Good gel control
• One-step extrusion processing to improve
manufacturing efficiency
• Reduced VOC emissions compared to current
solvent-based coating technology
• Can be recycled as a thermoplastic material
APPLICATIONS
The low adhesion build-up performance of Versaflex
CF 6668 TPE makes it ideal for use in protective films
for high-end applications including:
• Appliance
• Household furniture
• Building & construction
• Automotive

HellermannTyton, a global leader in designing and
manufacturing fastening solutions for the automotive
industry, wanted to improve upon the bent steel plate it was
using to fabricate a complicated seat fastening device for a
leading automotive manufacturer.
Among
the required properties were high strength and stiffness,
impact resistance, moderate temperature resistance and low
warpage.
This material offers
the stiffness and high impact performance required to support
and secure multiple electronic attachments, and provides the
impact and temperature resistance needed.

Combat outposts require barriers and other structures that must be constructed quickly and efficiently in the field.
Avient collaborated with Edwards to develop ballistic-resistant panels that were not only compatible with the required hardware but also met color requirements for better visual cover once deployed.
With our hardware fabrication capabilities and Avient’s knowledge of composite ballistic protection technology, we were able to create modular systems that reduce time and logistic requirements for our brave soldiers.”
