These new grades contain 35 to 75 percent bio content, validated using ASTM C6866-21 method B. The new, plant-based reSound BIO formulations are available globally and produced in America and Asia. reSound BIO formulations are a part of Avient’s broader reSound TPE portfolio, which includes both recycled-content and bio-based formulations.

Mevopur™ Healthcare Bio-based Polymer Solutions manufactured in Malmö, Sweden, are now ISCC PLUS certified. These solutions are made with bio-derived polymers, including polypropylene, polyethylene, polycarbonate, acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), and styrenics, with bio-derived content ranging from 70% to 100%. Following the mass balance chain-of-custody approach, the amount of bio-based content is tracked through segregated bookkeeping and provided in the sustainability declaration for the Mevopur healthcare bio-based portfolio.

Nymax™ BIO Bio-based Polyamide Solutions As brand owners look for new ways to lower their carbon footprint and bring more sustainable products to the market, Nymax™ BIO polyamide formulations can help. These bio-derived and glass fiber-reinforced formulations utilize 16–47% natural filler from renewable plant sources, including corn, straw, and wheat. The Nymax BIO portfolio includes six grades that offer lower warpage plus excellent surface appearance and colorability compared with traditional PA66 glass fiber-filled materials.

TECHNICAL BULLETIN reSound™ BIO Thermoplastic Elastomers Customizable Bio-based TPEs reSound™ BIO TPEs are formulated utilizing between 35 and 60 percent bio-renewable content.
