CASE STUDY: COLOR, ADDITIVES & INKS
Challe
nge Accepted.
THE SOLUTION
The Avient team proposed multiple solutions—including
a laser-marking additive, an authentication additive, and
colorant—bundled into a single Smartbatch™ concentrate.
The concentrate
also included the required color for the manufacturer’s
branding and an additive for UV protection.

Coloring
SBC TPEs have inherently superior color than most other TPEs.
Therefore, they
require less color concentrate to achieve a particular color and the colors produced are
cleaner (less yellow) than other TPEs.
Filled opaque formulations are more
difficult to color in deep intense colors, but will produce good pastel colors.
