Stan-Tone™ Colorants
Epoxy Paste Colorants (EPX)
Stan-Tone™ EPX epoxy paste colorants are select
organic and inorganic pigments dispersed in a
Bisphenol A undiluted epoxy resin with an epoxide
equivalent of 185.
The high pigment loading of these
colorants allows for excellent economics.
KEY CHARACTERISTICS
• Intended for use in a variety of thermoset
epoxy systems
• Based on heat stability, lightfastness,
weatherability and toxicity
• Use level is 1%–2% for thick casting and
5%–10% for a thin coating
APPLICATIONS
Stan-Tone EPX dispersions are suitable for use
in a variety of applications, including:
• Protective coatings
• Adhesives
• Epoxy flooring
• Electrical potting
• Composites
• Laminates

Monitors transmit color through what’s called additive color synthesis—the method of using two or three distinct stimuli of colored light to create large color ranges.
An additive color module is basically RGB (red, green, blue)—or R+G+B = White.
When colors interact, an opaque color will dominate the color shift.

Color Correct
But, with off-the-shelf colors, the yellow may have some red pigment in it and when it is mixed with a royal blue (also containing red pigment), the result will be a very dull green.
Also, producing colors in-house means that color is available faster.
