Mars Otomotiv’s engineering team was on the hot seat.  As part of their search for an alternative, Mars Otomotiv’s engineers met with Avient to explore non-metal options for the part. Again working in tandem, the Mars Otomotiv engineers and Avient’s technical team were able to alter the mold so it could process the thermoplastic in place of aluminum.

That’s why the manufacturer’s technical team hoped to find a single-layer material to jacket and insulate the wire. The engineering team conferred with Avient to find a material that could meet the stringent requirements. With nothing clearly available in the market, the teams worked to develop an entirely new solution: Syncure™ Solar, a single-layer jacketing and insulation material made of cross-linked polyethylene.
