Polystrand™ Continuous Fiber Tapes & Laminates
This customer used Polystrand™ continuous fiber reinforced thermoplastic (CFRTP) tapes and laminates in the trailer space of their heavy truck applications.
These tapes and laminates combined high strength, unidirectional fibers and engineered thermoplastic resins to help reduce weight while maintaining exceptional strength and impact resistance.

CRTM™ (continuous resin transfer molding) panels are high quality composite sandwich panels with tailored, multi-axial fiber reinforcements, high-fiber volume contents and very low void content.
Laminate skin face-sheets are also available with continuous fiberglass and/or carbon fiber reinforced polyester, vinyl ester and epoxy or custom resins.
This is possible because, unlike a pultrusion process where the resin is applied to the fiber before it enters the die, with CRTM the resin is injected directly into the die for better control of fiber alignment and resin kinetics.

Avient’s composite springs are manufactured using a continuous pultrusion process.
Reinforcement fiber configurations are designed to provide high flexural strength and modulus in the axial
direction plus fastener bearing strength in the transverse direction
