PHTHALATES IN PLASTICS KNOWING THE FACTS Phthalates are a group of chemicals used to make plastics, and in particular polyvinyl chloride (PVC), more flexible. Examples of common applications include medical tubing, inflatables, packaging film and sheets, garden hoses, toys and automotive plastics.
