PROCESSOR
T H I N P L A F I L M & B A G S
• Non-stick performance during manufacturing
• Excellent film quality with good aesthetics
• Efficient and clean process performance
• Compliant with food contact applications*
• Provided a performance additive to prevent
biodegradable resin from sticking to the
chill-roll surface
• Reduced the polymer friction factor on metal
surfaces, resulting in a better film quality
• Helped improve the manufacturing process
with fewer cleaning steps

Cesa Scratch & Mar Resistance
Additives are proven compatible across a wide
range of polymers, and can be used in a variety of
processes, including extrusion, injection molding,
blow molding or thermoforming.
PRODUCT BULLETIN
KEY CHARACTERISTICS
• Enhances resistance to scratching, abrasion,
and surface blemishes
• Keeps products looking newer, longer
• Improves perceived quality
• Provides a reduction in surface friction and
in sticking between parts
• Tested and proven compatible across a wide
range of polymers and processes—especially
successful with polyolefins
MARKETS AND APPLICATIONS
Cesa Scratch & Mar Resistance Additives give
the extra protection needed for many
applications, including those that experience
daily surface abrasion.

Material needs to:
• Pass ampere test at 10A and 16A conditions
• Pass glow wire test at 750°C at 1.5mm thickness
• Have a lubrication effect and dimensional stability at an elevated
temperature of 110°C
• Meet test criteria of 250K cycles switch on/off without failure or
dimensional changes
• Reduced risk of shock by replacing brass with polymer
formulation that met all key electrical and functional
performance criteria
• Eliminated the need for secondary lubricant due to self-
lubricating properties of LubriOne materials
• Enabled in-house molding which removed reliance on
external part supplier and allowed direct management
of global inventory levels

2 Nymax Polymer Formulations
Nymax™ and Nymax™ REC Formulations
Nymax™ thermoplastics include prime and recycled nylon formulations in both unfilled grades and
with various levels of glass fiber and mineral reinforcements.
Additional draft may be required
for grained/textured surfaces.

Incomplete Fill
Melt and/or mold
too cold
• Increase nozzle and barrel temperatures
• Check thermocouples and heater bands
Mold design
• Enlarge or widen vents and increase number of vents
• Check that vents are unplugged
• Check that gates are unplugged
• Enlarge gates and/or runners
• Perform short shots to determine fill pattern and
verify proper vent location
• Increase wall thickness to move gas trap to
parting line
Shot size
• Adjust transfer position to 98% full
• Increase cushion
